I'm currently facing a lot of pressure at work as we're undergoing some major organizational changes. I've been trying to explain to my management just how critical it is to migrate away from legacy Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) before the deadline of September 30th, but getting the necessary approvals has been a slow process. Our change management procedures are complicated and require thorough documentation and approval, and if I proceed without them, I could face serious repercussions, including termination. I'm really stressed out about this, and I would greatly appreciate any guidance or clear documentation from Microsoft that outlines what will happen if we miss this deadline. It's honestly making me consider looking for another job!

There's some clear documentation on what happens if you don't migrate. Essentially, starting October 1st, MFA will be managed through a new interface. If you don't have everything migrated and properly set up, your users are going to be in for a world of trouble. Microsoft has a wizard that guides you through the migration based on your current settings, so make sure to document what it says to help you through the process. When October 1st hits, you can at least say to your management, "I told you so!"
You know, you might be able to extend the deadline until July 2026 if you just keep this info under wraps. Haha, just make sure not to spread it around your company!
Oh really? Is it as simple as calling support to request that extension?
