I'm currently using a 4090 and a 5800X3D, and I'm excited to upgrade to the AM5 platform with the 9800X3D. However, I'm overwhelmed by the motherboard options out there. I've heard that B850 motherboards are more future-proof since they don't usually require BIOS flashing such as the others. I need a reliable board with at least 2 M.2 slots and WiFi 6, but I'm not sure which brand to go with since my knowledge is limited. Any recommendations?

I've had a good experience with MSI's Tomahawk; it offers 3 M.2 slots and is generally solid. Even though I have the B650 model, I've heard great things about MSI's B850 options too!
Honestly, any brand should do well, but I'd avoid Asrock if I were you, especially for the 9800X3D. Gigabyte seems to be getting solid reviews lately.
That’s good to hear! I’m looking at the GIGABYTE B850 AORUS Elite now. I’ve heard mixed things about ASRock recently.
I’d recommend the Gigabyte B850 Elite WiFi 7. It’s been reliable for me and is usually cheaper than the ROG B850 boards. I’ve heard too many stories from friends about MSI boards failing, so I’d steer clear of those.
I feel the same way about MSI. I found the ASUS TUF B850-Plus on sale on Amazon, so I think I'm going to grab that one.
Thanks! I'll check it out. Is MSI reliable overall? I had some not-so-great experiences with them before.
