My Nokia phone model RM-1017 has stopped charging. I've plugged it in, but it seems like it won't charge at all. I've checked for any corrosion on the connection points and nothing is blocking the cable. This phone hasn't been used for a few years, but I'd like to get it working again to give it to my son.

It sounds like the battery might be dead. Finding a replacement could be tricky and a bit pricey since the phone is quite outdated. Also, keep in mind it doesn't support 4G, which might limit its usability depending on your area's network. You might want to consider just getting a new or used budget smartphone instead.
Wow, that's a throwback! But honestly, the operating system (Windows Mobile) is no longer supported, so app stores and services are gone. If the phone has a removable battery, it might be worth trying a new one. Just keep in mind that finding a new Lumia battery might be tough and expensive. If the charger itself is faulty, that could be another issue too. Fixing this phone might not be worth it, and buying a decent used Android could be a better option.
