What Component is Usually the Loudest in a PC Build?

I'm curious about the noise levels in my PC build. I know that the noise from concurrent components doesn't really add up, so I want to find out which component typically makes the most noise. I'm considering whether it matters if I go for a GPU with 2 fans or 3 fans. My case is the Phanteks XT Pro Ultra, which has 3 front 140mm fans and 1 back 140mm fan. I'm planning to use an air cooler, likely the Phantom Spirit. Can anyone tell me what the noise level of these components will be? Will they be quieter than the GPU? Also, does the PSU contribute to overall noise? I'm looking at GPUs like the B580, 9060 XT, or 5060 Ti, or even some older models while I wait for summer sales or Prime Day to finish my build.

In general, the case fans can produce the most noise if they aren't designed for quiet operation, so if you're after silence, you might want to look into quieter brands like Noctua. They make a big difference in terms of noise levels!

The GPU can indeed be the loudest component, but some models like the Astral or Noctua brands have quieter fans compared to many CPU coolers. If noise is a main concern, consider upgrading your fans; Noctua and Arctic are known for their silent models, so that could really help your overall sound levels.
