What could be causing my laptop to fade to white and freeze?

I'm having a problem with my Lenovo Ideapad. It froze while I was playing a game, and I had to turn it off because it was unresponsive. When I turned it back on after a few minutes, the screen started to fade to white slowly, and it remained unresponsive. I let it sit for a few hours, and when I turned it on again, it worked for a bit but then the fading issue returned. It's been two days of this, and I haven't been able to use it normally since. I really need some insight into what's going on, but I can't afford to get it repaired at the moment. Apologies if my explanation isn't clear; English isn't my first language.

First off, we need to determine if the screen is the only issue. Have you tried pressing the Caps Lock key? If the light turns on, it's just a screen problem, which could be fixable. If not, it sounds like there might be a hardware issue on the motherboard, possibly with the graphics card, which could be harder and more costly to repair.

Another thing to consider is if the laptop is overheating. Make sure it’s on a hard surface where airflow isn't restricted, like a table. If you can access the BIOS, try booting from there and see if the screen fades while you're not in Windows. This might help figure out if it's a software issue.
