I'm looking to upgrade my PC to get better FPS in Fortnite, since it's pretty CPU-bound. I'm hoping to hit a consistent 144 frames, and I want to make sure whatever I choose is compatible with my current components without causing any bottlenecks. Here's what I currently have:
- Motherboard: Asus H110m-A/M.2
- GPU: GTX 980
- CPU: i7-7700K
- RAM: HyperX Fury 2400MHz (2x8GB)
- HDD: Old 500GB Toshiba one
- PSU: 550W
If you think I should upgrade something else first, feel free to suggest!

You're actually going to need a new motherboard because your current one really limits upgrade options. Consider getting an i5-12400F paired with a B660 board, which should only set you back around $215-220 total, and you can still use your DDR4 RAM. Plus, moving your OS and games onto an SSD could give you a huge speed boost and reduce stuttering when loading game assets.

Makes so much sense, thanks a lot!
