What CPU Should I Choose for My RTX 5070 Ti Build?

I'm building a PC for gaming as well as 3D modeling using programs like Blender, Substance Painter, and ZBrush. A friend of mine suggested I go for the Ryzen 9 9950X, but I'm curious if there are more budget-friendly options available that would still work well for my needs. Thanks in advance for your help!

Go for the fastest CPU you can fit in your budget! Even the 7000 series is worth considering if you have enough savings. More cores will help with performance, but if you're on a tighter budget, the 9700X is still a solid pick for both gaming and productivity tasks.

What kind of budget are you looking at? The 9900X3D is a slightly cheaper alternative to the 9950X and has 12 cores, making it great for handling both games and productivity tasks. It’s a solid choice if you want to balance both areas well!

If you're considering alternatives to Ryzen, don't forget about Intel! The Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 CPUs perform well in gaming and productivity without breaking the bank compared to the Ryzen 9 options.

Honestly, the 9900X3D isn't really the best option out there. For gaming, the 9700X3D is comparable, and if you're more focused on rendering, the 9950X is a better choice and usually cheaper. If you need a mix of both, go for the 9950X3D.

Have you thought about the 7800X3D? It could be a great fit for your requirements too, balancing gaming and workload effectively!

If you're focusing on gaming, the X3D CPUs really shine, but for 3D modeling and other tasks, consider the 9900X3D or 9950X3D for a good balance. If gaming isn't your top priority and you're working at higher resolutions, you might just want a standard CPU instead.
