I'm looking for a good CPU to pair with my RTX 5090 for a setup that runs at 720p and 720Hz. Right now, I have the 7700x installed, but I'm considering options to improve performance. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure why you'd want a 5090 for a 720p display – it seems overkill! But if you’re really set on it, just know that going with higher-end CPUs like the 9950X3D will handle whatever you throw at it.

Honestly, it's a bit unusual to run a 5090 at such a low resolution like 720p. Usually, people might go for higher resolutions at that power level. But if you're looking for the top choice, the AMD Ryzen 9 9850X3D is excellent for pure performance. Just keep in mind that for 720p, you might not need a CPU that powerful.

If you're on a budget, the i5 6500 could do the trick, but it's not going to maximize what that RTX 5090 can do. Depending on your setup, might want to look into something like the Ryzen 9 9950X3D for top-tier performance! And just a heads up, with a 720Hz monitor, you might want to double-check if that's even a real thing.

Just wondering, are you actually using an old CRT monitor? The combo of a 5090 and 720p is kind of off the charts hilarious. It's cool though, if you just want the best for a niche use!
