What CPU Upgrade Should I Choose for My Ryzen 5 3600 Setup?

I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 with an MSI 3070 Suprim X. I've noticed some significant FPS drops in CS2, especially when there are multiple smokes or molotovs in play. I'm considering upgrading my CPU, and I've found a few options at attractive prices. I'm also planning to bump my RAM from 16GB to 32GB. Here are the CPUs I'm considering:
- Ryzen 9 3900XT for €150
- Ryzen 7 3700X for €70
- Ryzen 9 3900X for €170

Given the current market and my primary focus on gaming, which CPU should I go for? Any suggestions on what to look for would be greatly appreciated since I'm looking for a solution ASAP!

If you're looking for the best value, I’d recommend focusing on the 5000 series, especially the 5700X or the X3D CPUs if you can find them at a reasonable price. They tend to perform much better for gaming compared to the older models you're considering. Just ensure your motherboard supports the upgrade with a BIOS update first!

Yeah, the 5700X3D is definitely a solid choice if you can get it. It's designed to handle gaming demands like CS2 super well!
