What CPU Upgrade Should I Consider for My 2023 Prebuilt PC?

I have a prebuilt PC from 2023 featuring an 11th Gen Intel i5 processor, an RTX 3060, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. All the components are housed in an HP Omen 25L GT12-1xxx, including the motherboard and fans. I haven't checked the wattage of the power supply unit, but it should support the setup. I'm wondering what CPU I should upgrade to and if there are likely bottlenecks with this build.

Honestly, upgrading the CPU could lead to bottlenecks with your current setup. If you want to go higher with the CPU, you might have to change your motherboard and RAM as well. If that's the case, consider switching to AMD. Just my two cents, but think it over!

I guess I need to save up for a more extensive upgrade then.

Yeah, AMD has some solid options right now. They’re giving Intel a run for their money!

Have you thought about why you want to upgrade your CPU first? If it’s performance you’re after, consider upgrading your GPU instead for better gameplay at higher resolutions.

My GPU works fine for now, but I'd like to skip ahead a few generations with CPU since they usually hold value longer.
