What do I need to know about adding an old SSD to my new computer?

I'm getting ready to add a 1TB SATA SSD from my old PC to my new one. This SSD was mainly used for storing games and some recorded clips. I'm wondering if I can just plug it in and play my games straight away, or if there are extra steps I need to take to get everything running smoothly on my new setup.

You'll need to reinstall the games on your new system. Just moving the SSD won't automatically integrate them with your new OS.

All the data from your old SSD will still be there, but it won't be automatically recognized by your new OS. You'll have to point the game launcher to where the games are stored on the SSD.

The old SSD only had Steam games on it. Instead of messing around with directing the games, could I just wipe the old SSD using the old computer before transferring it? That way, it'll be like starting fresh when I plug it into the new one.
