Hey everyone! I've recently inherited a Late 2013 27-inch iMac and I'm looking to use it for some basic university tasks. The problem is, I don't have a keyboard or mouse, and I'm not quite sure how to get it all set up. I would love any tips on what additional hardware I might need and if there are ways to modernize the setup a bit. Thanks in advance!

Also, just a tip: the 2013 iMac officially tops out at macOS 10.15 Catalina. If you need newer software for school apps, you might want to check out OpenCore Legacy Patcher. It can help you run newer macOS versions, which can come in handy for your uni work.

You definitely need a keyboard and mouse to get started, and then just power it on! But seriously, I know it sounds easy, but here's the catch: many of the newer keyboards and mice seem to be incompatible with 2013 models. Just keep an eye out for ones that mention compatibility with earlier versions, especially those from around 2014 or earlier.

I appreciate the heads up! I’ll look for some older models then.
