What does it mean when a black tab briefly appears on my PC and I see a waiting message for Microsoft Miracast?

I've been experiencing an issue where a black tab pops up for a split second when I turn on my PC, and when I shut it down, I get a message that says it's waiting for Microsoft Miracast to close. I'm wondering what could be causing this. Could it be a virus or something else? I've had this happening for a while, but it only shows up occasionally at startup.

If you've checked and found that Miracast isn't installed on your PC, it's likely just a background process trying to start. You might not have to worry too much about it, but doing a malware scan can bring peace of mind. Better safe than sorry!

That black tab can be pretty annoying! It's often related to Miracast, which is used for wireless displays and conferencing. If you don't need it, uninstalling it might solve your problem. Also, since you're concerned about malware, it wouldn't hurt to run a scan with Malwarebytes just to be safe.
