I found a GPU on eBay that's listed as being really cheap, but it doesn't come with a cooling component. Can someone explain what this means? What would I need to do to use this GPU?

Just to clarify, missing the cooling component means you'll have to find a way to cool it yourself. Look up GPU water blocks if that's the route you're considering. It could be a good deal if you can get the right cooler for it!

Exactly! If the price is right, go for it. Just make sure to pick up some thermal pads and a proper cooler.

If the GPU is missing its cooling component, it probably means the previous owner had a custom cooling setup, like a water cooling loop, and they either removed the stock cooler or threw it away. You're essentially getting just the graphics card itself without any heat sinks or fans to cool it.

Yeah, I think they had it water cooled and didn't keep the original cooler. You might want to check for a water block or get an aftermarket cooler.

So basically, you'll have the bare GPU without any fans or heatsinks. You'll need to buy a cooling solution for it. Just like a CPU needs a cooler, the GPU does too, so make sure you get one that fits. You can look for the original cooler or consider an aftermarket option instead.
