What Does “Not Applicable” Mean for Drive Self Test on My Lenovo T450s?

Hey everyone! I recently encountered some issues with my Lenovo T450s. A few days ago, my laptop froze up, and although I could move the cursor, nothing else worked. Eventually, I got the infamous Blue Screen of Death and couldn't boot into Windows anymore. After some troubleshooting, I managed to get it running again, but it still crashes every now and then.

I decided to do a factory reset and back up my data first. In my search online, someone mentioned that my hard drive might be failing, so I ran some diagnostics. The results showed that the Drive Self Test was marked as "Not applicable." Can anyone explain what this means? All the other tests passed without a hitch, making this one stand out.

If you can boot into Windows normally or even in Safe Mode, check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for any dump files. These files help analyze BSOD issues. If you find any, compress them into a zip file and share them through a file-sharing site. This can really help in diagnosing the problem!

You might want to try running Hiren's Boot CD using a USB stick, especially the Windows 11 version. It includes several drive testing tools that can help check the health of your disk.

Are you running diagnostics from the boot menu or using the manufacturer's software? Those details can make a difference!
