I've been given a $600 budget to upgrade my home office as a sysadmin, but I'm a bit lost on the best ergonomic options out there. I already have a comfortable IKEA chair, a dual monitor setup, AirPods, an AT2020 mic, and an HD webcam. Since I'm often working at my desk for 6 to 8 hours a day, my focus is on comfort and enhancing productivity rather than aesthetics. Would a standing desk or noise panels be beneficial? What about a keyboard or other gear that could improve my setup? I'd really appreciate your suggestions, especially if you know of any good deals!

A good used Herman Miller chair could be a game changer. I’ve got an Aeron and it's incredibly comfortable, worth every penny. But you might want to shop around a bit—not everyone can afford a brand new one!
You should also think about walking shoes! Getting outside during breaks makes a huge difference. Taking short walks can help clear your mind and keep your energy up while working.
You might want to consider getting a standing desk along with a trackpad mouse. Standing desks are really useful; they should be a staple in any home office. And a trackpad can provide more comfort if you want to avoid the wrist strain that comes with traditional mice. Plus, they can work great beside an external keyboard!
Totally agree! I switched to a standing desk because my cat kept stealing my chair. It's a lifesaver for both of us!
I hear that! Standing desks really do change the game, but what about the trackpad? Is it really better than the built-in one on laptops?
Also, don't underestimate a cable management system. It helps keep your workspace neat and makes cleaning much easier. I have an Uplift desk and love how quietly it adjusts, plus the cable setup is fantastic!
Definitely get a Logitech vertical mouse and a Kinesis keyboard if you can. They’re both comfortable and should fit well within your budget!
Those sound awesome! I’ve heard ergonomics can really boost productivity.
For sure! Plus, combined with a standing desk, you'll feel way better at the end of the day.
I’ve heard mixed feelings about those chairs—definitely some investment. But once you try one, it’s hard to go back!
