What GPU Should I Choose for Efficient Gaming Off-Grid?

I'm currently running a 6950 XT with a 12700K, and I game at 1440p with a 240Hz refresh rate. I enjoy various games, but Hell Let Loose and Fortnite are particularly demanding on power. Since I'm off-grid, I'm looking for ways to reduce power consumption without sacrificing performance. I've read that tweaking some CPU settings might help. Right now, I'm considering a refurbished 4070 Super for $550 or a 5060 Ti with 16GB for $580. Any advice on balancing efficiency and performance would be really appreciated!

Balancing 240Hz with low power usage is tough. It's true that newer GPUs are a lot more efficient, but the 60-class cards often need to be heavily clocked, which might not give the performance you want for gaming. Have you thought about undervolting your 6950 XT? AMD's newer chips handle that well, and you can save a bunch of watts while barely affecting performance. Also, limiting your framerate to 120Hz could help with power draw too, though it might feel a bit different.

Yeah, I've been in a similar boat. I got my gear before power consumption became a real issue. Undervolting sounds like a good idea; I might give that a shot before switching GPUs. Thanks for the tip!
