Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my GPU and would love some advice before I buy. I'm currently running an RTX 2070 Super, but with the way prices are going, I think this might be my last chance to snag a good upgrade. My power supply is a newer 650W Gold, and while I'd prefer not to get a new PSU right now, I'm eyeing either the RTX 5070 or the RX 9070 for 1440p gaming because I've heard the RTX model has 12 GB VRAM. Here are the GPUs I'm considering:
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5070 GAMING
- MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Gaming Trio
- ASUS PRIME RX9070
- Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 9070
Here are my system specs:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F, 2500 MHz, 6 Core
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B760 GAMING X DDR4
- RAM: 32GB Lexar 3600MHz
- PSU: Endorfy Supremo FM5 Gold 650W
I'd like to hear your thoughts on which GPU would be the best fit for my setup!

Both the RTX 5070 and RX 9070 will work with your 650W PSU without issues, as the 5070 suggests a 600W PSU and the 9070 only needs 550W. Your CPU isn’t super power-hungry either, so you should be good either way. However, if prices are similar, I would lean towards the RX 9070 for its better raster performance and 16GB of VRAM, which can help it last longer. Check out some GPU tier lists if you want to compare performance too!

Got it, they’re both priced the same here, except the Sapphire version is $50 more. So it seems like the RX 9070 really is the better option!
