What GPU Should I Pair with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D for Gaming?

I'm looking to upgrade my gaming setup and need some advice. Currently, I have an RTX 2060 and an i5-12400F, which isn't cutting it for my gaming needs, especially for CS2 where I'm struggling to maintain 165 FPS. I'm planning a new build featuring a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, a Gigabyte B850 Gaming X motherboard, a 1TB SATA SSD, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM (still deciding on the exact specs). I want to make sure my GPU choice won't bottleneck this setup. What's a good GPU for high-FPS gaming in CS2 while also being capable for titles like Clair Obscur and Cyberpunk? Also, is my overall build solid for the future?

For top-tier performance, the RTX 5090 is the best. But if you need to stay within a reasonable budget, the 5070 would work out very well for your gaming needs. Just make sure it can handle the games you want to play.

5090 seems out of my budget, but thanks! I’ll stick with the 5070 then, sounds like the right fit.

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is plenty powerful and should pair well with any high-end GPU, including the RTX 5090. Get what fits your budget, knowing you’ll have room to upgrade later if you want. Having performance left to improve down the line can be a good strategy!

Wow, I didn’t realize it could handle the 5090! That’s reassuring.

Considering your budget and needs, I'd recommend looking at the 5070 series or better. With any AM5 CPU, you should expect over 200 FPS in CS2, so make sure you’re getting a GPU that matches your build quality without overspending. Honestly, dedicating the funds to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D could be a bit much unless you're maximizing performance with high-end peripherals.

I hear you on the 5070, sounds like a solid choice! I’m mostly focused on high FPS for CS2 too, so it makes sense.

Your setup can definitely support any GPU on the market right now. The 7800X3D is a huge step up in performance—it’s worth investing in it. Just choose a GPU that won't limit your gaming experience for the next few years; with that CPU, you’re set for longevity in your gaming rig.

Consider the 5070Ti or the 9070-9070XT as well. They offer great performance for the price, especially for high-refresh-rate gaming.
