What Graphics Card Should I Upgrade to from an MSI 1650?

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card from an MSI GeForce GTX 1650 to something better, as I'm saving up to improve my gaming experience on a 1440p 144Hz monitor. I bought a prebuilt iBUYPOWER system about five years ago and have been upgrading it piece by piece. My budget is around $300. I'm curious whether I should prioritize VRAM or model performance in my upgrade. I'm open to options from Nvidia, AMD, or Intel. Here are my specs:

- CPU: Intel i7-14700K
- GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1650 VENTUS XS 4G OC
- RAM: 40GB DDR4
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B660 DS3H AC DDR4-Y1
- PSU: 600W

While the 3080 is a fantastic choice, I’d recommend checking out the RX 6700 XT or 6750 XT, especially for your budget. Both options offer decent performance at 1440p. Just make sure the card has enough VRAM—12GB minimum is a good benchmark for you!

You can find a used RTX 3080 around $300, which is a great option. The 3070 Ti is also solid and usually goes for about $250. Just keep in mind your PSU might not handle it well since it's an OEM 600W.

Yeah, I'd be cautious with the 600W PSU. You don't want it to struggle with a high-demand card like that.
