Hey everyone! I just built my first PC, and I've been really happy with how it runs, especially my RTX 5080 alongside the 9800X3D. I tried following some guides to overclock my GPU and used 3DMark for testing. Initially, my score was around 8650, which is close to the average of 8704. I set the power limit to 110% and the core clock to 385 MHz. After increasing the memory clock to 1500 MHz, my performance skyrocketed to 91 FPS and a score of 9120. However, when I pushed it up to 2000 MHz, my FPS dropped to 70! I reverted everything back to stock settings, even restarted my PC, but now my performance seems permanently stuck at 7444. What went wrong, and how can I fix this?

First thing you should try is resetting your BIOS to default settings. It can help clear any funky overclock settings that might still be hanging around.
Honestly, overclocking can be a risky game if you're not careful. These days, it's not always worth it unless you really know what you're doing. You might have put too much stress on the GPU, which could lead to some damage or just instability. If you lost around 12% performance, it could be a sign of that. In any case, you might just need to reset the BIOS to defaults and see if things improve!
I wouldn't give up just yet! With new methods like undervolting, you can often recover some performance with lower temps, which might help your FPS without risking damage.
