I'm curious about the process when I send my iPhone in for repairs, especially if they mail it to an Apple repair center. When they fix it, will I get my exact model back, or could I end up with a refurbished version? If it's a refurbished phone, will it be the same model I sent in (like an iPhone 14), or could it be an older or lower-tier model if mine is no longer available? Do I have any say in this process?

It mostly depends on what issue your phone has. If it needs to be replaced, they usually send you a refurbished one that's the same model you had. In my experience working at a Genius Bar, it's rare to get upgraded to a newer model unless there's a specific reason for it.
That makes sense! I was told I had to send my phone in for repair even for something simple, and that I wouldn't get my old one back. They told me I had to wipe it, which seems unnecessary. Wish they could just do it in-store!
