I'm planning to buy a new M series MacBook, but I want to make sure I'm covered for theft and battery swelling. Apple talks about coverage for their watches and iPads, but I'm looking specifically for something that includes theft protection for my MacBook. I've heard that some policies like Apple's don't really cover theft, and I'm also curious if something like Amazon's insurance through Asurion would work, though I understand that they don't cover theft or battery issues. Any recommendations?

AppleCare+ offers theft and loss protection, but that's primarily for iPhones, and that part is handled by a third-party insurer. If Apple doesn't offer it for MacBooks, chances are you won't find many insurance companies willing to provide that coverage. If you're a homeowner, adding your electronics to your homeowners insurance can cover theft, so that might be the safest route. But honestly, if theft coverage is essential to you, options seem pretty limited right now.
Yeah, I think renters insurance might help too. It's worth checking out!
