I'm looking for suggestions on an operating system that's Ubuntu-based and works well for a laptop with a touchscreen. Any recommendations?

I've been using Ubuntu on mine, and it works like a charm! Just so you know, it's a Celeron device I got through a trade.

Nice, good to know it runs smoothly even on a Celeron!

Gnome, which is the default desktop for Ubuntu, is pretty touch-friendly, as long as your device has the right drivers.
