My cousin tried to take apart his Xbox Series S to clean it and swap out the power supply. However, he found some mysterious blue paste between the power supply components, and he's unsure of what it is or if he can replace it with regular thermal paste. Does anyone have a clue about this?

It sounds like that blue paste could be some kind of thermally-conductive glue, which is often used to hold capacitors in place. It's definitely not something you should replace with regular thermal paste. This stuff is crucial for proper thermal management and stability.
I think you're right! I noticed it's also present on the heatsink in my Xbox. Is there any way to know if it needs replacing?
