I've been getting into vi/vim for a few weeks and I'm curious about whether you use a key mapper like keyd. If you do, what remaps have you found to be the most useful or time-saving in your workflow?

I use kmonad and it's fantastic! I mapped my caps lock key to escape, and if I hold it, it switches to a different layer with some handy bindings, like vim cursor keys and WASD cursor keys. I also turned my alt gr key into a right-hand super key. When I switched to Wayland, kmonad helped a lot since recreating keypresses can be tricky. I found ydotool didn't work well for me, but with kmonad’s tap macros, I can pull off different key combos easily. Input remapper wasn't really my style, though; I guess I lack the patience to dive deep into it.
