What kind of budget PC can I build for 1440p gaming with non-AAA titles?

I'm planning to build a gaming PC capable of running some less demanding horror and survival games on Steam at 1440p with high settings. The titles I'm interested in include Ferocious, Clawed, Phasmophobia, Bigfoot, Unknown Tapes, Backrooms: Rec, and a few others. I've read that these games aren't graphically heavy, so I don't think I need a high-end setup. My budget for this build is $750, and I want to know how I can maximize that for my needs.

Just a heads up, why specifically 1440p? Do you already own a 1440p monitor?

Yes, I already have one. I’m upgrading from an Xbox Series X to PC gaming.

Are you hoping to get a full setup, including monitor and peripherals, for $750? If so, you might have to make some compromises. Are you okay with buying second-hand components? That could help stretch your budget further!

I already have my monitor and peripherals. The $750 is just for the PC itself, and I’m not afraid to buy used.

Check out this example system under your budget: [link]. It suggests good components without including peripherals. While it’s capable of running AAA titles, it might guide you to save more for your needs.

Thanks for the suggestion! I already have all my peripherals and monitor sorted.

For a budget like $750, I'd recommend looking into an AMD AM4 system on the used market. The AM4 socket has great performance for the price, and you could spend around $400 on a decent tower. With the remaining budget, focus on getting the best new graphics card you can find. This approach could work well for the games you want to play.

Consider building with a 7600 and a Peerless Assassin cooler, along with a B650 motherboard. You could opt for a budget GPU, maybe something like a B580, and get good RAM—16GB at 6000 should work well. Don't skimp on a quality PSU—aim for a good 750W power supply. If you’re looking for performance, a 1440p 144Hz monitor is ideal to enhance your experience.

I’ve got my monitor and peripherals set already. I just need the PC for my transition to PC gaming!
