I'm planning to build a PC featuring an RTX 5080 graphics card and an R7 9800X3D processor, specifically for gaming at 4K resolution. While I think this setup will handle it well, I'm curious about the FPS I might realistically achieve. Have others with similar builds had any experience to share? Also, how does using DLSS and MFG affect performance compared to not using them?

You should definitely check YouTube for benchmark videos. I have an RTX 5080 and a 9800X3D, and it’s been smooth sailing for most games, whether I'm using DLSS or not. It’s not going to match a 5090, but it’s solid against a variety of titles.
It really varies a lot based on the game. I've checked out tons of benchmarks, and not every game runs the same on these setups. Comparing scores across different titles can give you some insight, though!
Totally get that. I’ve seen a bunch of benchmarks, just wanted to hear actual user experiences from people gaming with similar setups.
For 4K gaming with demanding titles, you’re definitely going to want to use DLSS to maintain playable FPS. A 5090 would be better suited for 4K without dropping frames, but the 5080 should still perform decently if you tweak your settings.
I can handle a bit of DLSS, and honestly, I don’t notice any delay when I switch it on or off. So if that’s the case, the 5080 should still work pretty well, right?

I mainly play casual FPS games like COD and Doom. I don't stress too much about ultra-high FPS, so as long as it runs well with DLSS, I think I'll be fine with 4K gaming.
