I'm starting my computer science degree this September and I'm contemplating which laptop to buy. Right now, I have a Surface Laptop 4, but I'm looking to upgrade since its battery life isn't great and it struggles with demanding programs like Unity Engine. I need a laptop that can handle both programming and running music software like Ableton Live while still being reasonably priced. Any suggestions?

For computer science, you really don’t need super high-end hardware. It’s more about math and coding, so a laptop with pen support can be really useful for taking handwritten notes during lectures or writing out equations. You could look into something like a Surface Pro if you're keen on that note-taking style, or even an iPad might work well for you.
I've got a Wacom tablet for notes too, so I'm wondering if going for a tablet device is worth it. Do you think the investment in a more versatile tablet would be beneficial long-term?
