What Lightweight Linux Distro is Best for Touchscreen Use on a Surface Pro 3?

I'm looking for a lightweight Linux distribution that will work well on my Surface Pro 3, which has an Intel i3 4th generation processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. Since I don't have a keyboard for it, touchscreen functionality is essential. I've used Linux before, so I'm open to something based on Arch or another distribution, but I need it to just work, especially since I'm using it for school. I really want to avoid losing any of my data if something goes wrong, so stability is key.

If you're looking for a good option, I suggest trying Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop environment. It has built-in touchscreen support and typically works straight out of the box. You can download it from the official site and use Rufus on Windows to create a bootable USB. It’s pretty user-friendly!

But will navigation be tricky without a keyboard? I’ve used Mint before, but I wasn't sure how touch-friendly it is. Does it have gestures and all that? I haven't tried it on a touchscreen laptop.
