What Linux Distribution Should I Use for My Desktop and Laptop?

I'm currently using Linux Mint on my desktop (I was too lazy to install a different distribution) and Debian Gnome on my laptop. My desktop specs include an Asus A58M-A/USB3 motherboard with an AMD A4-4000 processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and a discrete Radeon RX 550 GPU, all running on a 240GB SSD. It's not new or powerful, but it still works well. I'm looking for recommendations for Linux distributions that can help me make the most out of my system. I prefer a stable OS that looks good as well; I'd consider Debian, but I need packages that aren't available on it. I appreciate any help!

For your hardware, Xubuntu 24.04 would be stable. The aesthetics might not be fantastic right out of the box, but you can enhance it with themes and tweaks. Also, consider upgrading your CPU since it's bottlenecking your GPU. You could ask an AI about that too, but human opinions are nice to have too. I'd suggest sticking with Mint and customizing it instead!

I did ask an AI, but I prefer human feedback! I'm thinking of upgrading to an A8 or A10 CPU or maybe just going for a more powerful laptop for portability. I think I should continue with Mint and just personalize it more.

Check out DistroWatch! They have a ton of information on different distributions, so you can find one that fits your needs.
