I've been stuck on Windows for a while, but I'm ready to switch things up and dive into Linux. I've used it in the past but ended up messing some distros up by mindlessly updating or tinkering without knowing what I was doing. I'm on the lookout for a stable distro that can run these programs out of the box: OBS, Steam, Studio One or Reaper, DaVinci Resolve, and VS Code. Any suggestions that would make this transition as smooth as possible?

If you're looking for an easy and stable option, I'd definitely suggest trying Ubuntu or Linux Mint. They come with good support and software management that's similar to the Windows Store, making installations pretty straightforward. For OBS, Steam, and VS Code, those are all available and easy to install. Programs like Studio One and DaVinci Resolve may need a bit more work though, especially DaVinci—it requires solid hardware. But you can find good guides online for those.
Totally agree with Ubuntu! Mint is also great if you prefer a different desktop environment like Cinnamon or XFCE.
