What Linux Distro Should I Choose for Gaming and Multimedia?

I'm making the leap from Windows to Linux and want your advice! I currently use Ubuntu on my work laptop, but I'm ready to switch my home PC, which is an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-B GAMING with an AMD RYZEN 9 5900X, 64GB RAM, a ZOTAC 4060 Super Twin Edge GPU, and a 1TB SSD. I primarily game on Steam, do some multimedia work, and want something customizable, ideally like Hyperland. Any suggestions for a good Linux distro that fits my needs?

Give Solus a try; it's a rolling release that's stable. It's got great polish with Plasma or GNOME as editions, which keeps things smooth while still allowing you to customize.

For a mix of stability and performance, check out Fedora or Bazzite with KDE Plasma for gaming. They're reliable and offer customization without the hassle.

I’ve had great experiences with Nobara on my 4070. It's optimized for gaming and seems to work well across several editions, so you might want to give it a look!

If you're into gaming, consider Bazzite. You can select your hardware when downloading the ISO, so the NVIDIA drivers come preinstalled. CatchyOS is another good option for a smooth start.

Starting with Ubuntu is a solid choice since you're already familiar with it. Most mainstream distros should suit your system well, especially for gaming and general use.
