What Linux Distro Should I Choose if I’m Switching from Windows 11?

I'm planning to switch from Windows 11 because I'm tired of my laptop sounding like a jet engine when booting up. I have several needs to consider: I want to do basic 3D modeling using Fusion 360, do some 3D printing, and play games like Fortnite and those from Hoyoverse, such as Genshin Impact and ZZZ. I have a little knowledge of Linux, but I'm not very experienced with all the different distributions out there. I'm looking for something user-friendly since I prefer not to have to watch tutorials for everything. I'm open to any suggestions and tips!

If gaming on Linux is essential for you, I'd recommend Mint, Fedora, or even EndeavourOS/CachyOS. They're all pretty good for gaming and user-friendly.

Totally agree with that! If gaming is crucial, you might want to check out ProtonDB to see compatibility for other games. If that's a big deal for you, Linux might not be the best fit or you might consider dual booting.

Fedora might be a good option for you too! It's user-friendly and has good support for various applications.

Just a heads up, you won't be able to play Fortnite on Linux since it uses kernel-level anti-cheat software. You might need to dual boot with Windows 11 if gaming is a priority for you.

You might want to try out openSUSE. It's known for being very stable and performs well when it comes to gaming.
