Hey everyone! I just purchased an LG 34GP63A monitor that supports 160Hz. My laptop is a Dell XPS 13, which only runs at 60Hz. Currently, I'm connected via HDMI and getting 50Hz on my monitor at a resolution of 3440x1440. I've done a bit of digging and learned that both the GPU and the connection port are important for refresh rates. I'm curious which port I should use to achieve the best refresh rate possible. Ideally, I prefer HDMI 2.1, but I suspect my GPU doesn't support it, so I might need to go with DisplayPort instead. Which one would you recommend for ensuring at least 144Hz or even 160Hz at 3440x1440? Thanks in advance!

You should definitely go with DisplayPort 1.4. Just make sure to get a high-quality cable to maintain the signal. It should help you reach those higher refresh rates without any issues.
If you can, consider getting a DP 2.1 cable. It might cost a bit more, but it will be more future-proof for any upgrades down the line.
