I'm currently using a 750W power supply but I'm considering upgrading to a 1000W unit. Here are a couple of options I'm looking at:
- ASUS ROG Loki SFX L 850W Platinum White Edition
- CORSAIR RM1000e (2025) Fully Modular Low-Noise ATX Power Supply
- MSI MAG A850GL WHITE PCIE5 Power Supply Unit, 850W
I want some insight on whether upgrading is necessary or if a 750W PSU is sufficient for my setup.

What’s up with your current 750W? If it's not performing well, maybe that’s enough reason to get a new one, regardless of wattage.
If your 750W unit is giving you issues, like the RGB not working, it might not be running as efficiently as it should. If you're thinking of a new PSU, check out the Corsair RM850X or even the Hx1000i for high quality.
I went with a 1000W PSU for more headroom for future builds. It gives you flexibility if you decide to upgrade your GPU or add more drives later on. Better to have a little extra power just in case!
That makes sense! I want to make sure I'm covered for future upgrades.
I ran a power supply calculator with the 5070 and 9800X3D and it came to about 644W for my setup, so you should be good with 750W. But going for an 850W or 1000W just gives you some leeway for any extra components.
Honestly, 750W should be fine for your build. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D doesn't draw much power and the RTX 5070 typically pulls around 300W at max. I wouldn't stress about upgrading unless you're planning to do some serious overclocking or adding more components in the future.

Good call! I was leaning toward the RM850e for my white build theme.
