What RAM should I buy to match my existing setup?

I'm looking to upgrade my RAM and I currently have an 8GB DDR4 3200MHz Samsung stick. I found an 8GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM from TeamGroup for a decent price and was thinking about adding it to my second slot. However, I'm a bit hesitant because I don't know much about mixing brands, and I've seen terms like latency and timings thrown around in other discussions that confuse me. I assumed that since both RAMs are DDR4 3200MHz, they would work together. Are there any compatibility issues I should be aware of? Thanks for any help!

You should definitely check the exact model number of your existing RAM and try to find the same one, especially when it comes to latency and timings. Those specifications matter in ensuring both RAM sticks work well together. If you can, look for the same brand and model to avoid issues.

I don't live in the U.S., so finding that exact model is tougher for me. Shipping fees are quite high, sometimes even half the price of the product! I'll try to find a local store or another option if needed.

Just to clarify, if I completely replace my current RAM with a different brand and specs, is that fine?
