Salaries can really vary based on location. Are you based in London? If the companies are in central London, you might be looking at a higher range than in other areas. Just keep that in mind while you negotiate!
What kind of offers are you getting? For that payment solution company, I heard they might be starting around £40k to low £50k, but it sounds like you're not getting a precise number yet. The hedge fund might be better since recruiters often underrate their offers. Remember, they laughed at your minimum of £45k – that's a good sign!
