Hey everyone! I'm looking for advice on how to upgrade my gaming setup. I've got a Ryzen 7 3800X with a B450 Tomahawk Max mobo, 32GB of DDR4 3600MHz RAM, a 2070 Super, and a Corsair RM650x PSU. My main monitor is 1080p at 165Hz. It's been five years since I built this rig, and while it still runs games like CS, Apex, and GTA fine, I have my eyes on upcoming titles like Dune, Borderlands 4, and Marathon. I'd love to reach at least 130fps for those new games. I don't need to max out graphics and am fine with lowering settings for better performance.
I've considered just upgrading the CPU and maybe a new GPU, but I'm curious if my 650W PSU will handle a better GPU without needing a replacement. I also thought about the option of upgrading the motherboard, but that could lead to a whole system overhaul, which I'm not keen on just yet. I want the best value for my money, especially since I'm planning to build a completely new system in a year or two. Any thoughts on what upgrades would be the smartest route, keeping in mind I'm looking for used parts? Thanks for any suggestions!
