What should I do about my water-damaged controller?

Hey everyone, I need some urgent help with my Meta Quest 3 controller. Earlier today, while gaming, I noticed that my X button was acting like it was permanently pressed down, even though it wasn't physically stuck. The Y button also seemed to not register presses at times, which was really strange. When I took off the front black panel of the controller, I found a brown liquid that had a water-like consistency on it, and some had seeped into the buttons. I quickly removed the battery and tried to clean it up with some toilet paper. The liquid had a hardened texture in some parts and smelled a bit like brown sugar. My other controller has some drift issues, but aside from that, it seems to be okay. Right now, I'm keeping both controllers upside down in case any more liquid comes out since I can't open them up for a better clean. What do you guys suggest I do next? If you need any more details, let me know!

It sounds like that brown liquid could be a mix of some kind of syrup or soda. If it hasn't been in there long and the controller is still somewhat functional, that’s a good sign! But, without being able to open it, there's really not much you can do. Try leaving it upside down for a while to let any excess liquid drain out, and make sure it's completely dry before trying to use it again. If it doesn’t improve, you might need to consider getting it professionally cleaned or replaced.

Definitely let it dry out for a few days before trying to use it again. If it still gives you trouble after that, you might need to look into a replacement.
