What Should I Do After Spilling Coffee on My Computer?

Hi everyone, I accidentally spilled about three-quarters of a cup of coffee on my desktop computer earlier today. I immediately powered it off, dried the surface as best I could, unplugged everything, and turned it upside down to help it air dry. I'm planning to let it sit like this for about five days. Since my case has a lot of ventilation holes, some of the coffee made its way inside, particularly affecting the PSU, which I believe will need to be replaced. I'm worried that coffee might have touched some of the other components, but I'm not sure yet. What additional steps can I take to improve the chances of saving my computer, if any?

You'll definitely need to replace the PSU after that coffee incident. After you unplug everything, it's really important to take the components out and inspect them right away. Check for any signs of burning and clean any residue using a damp (but not wet) cloth. Let everything dry out for about 72 hours, ensuring there’s good airflow, and flip the components over every 12 hours to help them dry evenly.

Thanks for the quick response! I'm currently dealing with a cramped space since I’m moving, and I won’t have room to leave everything out to dry until Friday at the earliest. Is it okay to keep the components in the case until then, or should I take them out now?
