I accidentally spilled a good amount of chocolate soy milk all over my laptop keyboard about 30 hours ago. Right after it happened, I turned it off, propped it up, and pointed a fan at it to help dry it out. Now that some time has passed, I'm wondering what my next steps should be to check for any damage. I don't have the right torx bit to take it apart at the moment, but I can get one if necessary. What can I do to prevent any further loss and assess if my laptop is damaged?

Good catch on shutting it down! I’m guessing it’s a Mac since you mentioned torx screws, but that definitely sounds like an ASUS Zenbook instead. Don't rush things yet—wait a bit longer to see if it dries out completely.
It's great that you shut it down quickly! For the best results, it's recommended to let it dry for 72 hours. You really want to make sure it's completely dry before turning it back on. Disassembling it could help you check for moisture pads and signs of corrosion. If you can, back up your data by removing the drive. A friend of mine had a similar experience with water damage, and it was a tricky fix, so just be cautious!
Yeah, it's indeed an ASUS Zenbook, so I'm a bit worried about the potential damage.
