I recently purchased a prebuilt PC from a well-known vendor. I specifically ordered an MSI GeForce RTX 5080 16GB Gaming Trio OC for my graphics card, but they ended up sending me a ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 5080 SOLID OC instead. I'm wondering if I should push for my consumer rights here, since they gave me the wrong GPU technically. Although both cards seem comparable in price and performance, I would love to get some insights on this situation. Should I take action, or is it not worth the trouble if the ZOTAC card performs similarly?

Most prebuilt PC companies have a policy allowing them to substitute parts for ones of equal value if the originally ordered part isn't available. You might not have much control over the situation, but it's still a good idea to reach out to them and explain your concerns.
That's interesting, I thought so too, but since I'm in Germany, this might not apply. They did offer to swap the GPU, but if the one I received works fine, I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle.
Honestly, the two graphics cards are practically the same in performance, just from different brands. Zotac is reputable, so I'd say enjoy your new PC without worrying too much about the model difference.
Thanks for the reassurance! I think I'll just keep the ZOTAC card.
Did they specify which exact model you would receive in the order, or did you assume based on a picture? It's common for prebuilt companies to just advertise as "RTX 5080" and then use whichever model they have in stock.
They definitely stated the exact model I ordered. Is there any significant difference in performance between the two?
Definitely contact them, but they will likely say this is their standard policy.
