I mistakenly trusted an online friend and ended up downloading something they sent me. After running it, nothing seemed to happen, but I noticed that some of my in-game items went missing. It's been a few hours since then, and I took the step of fully resetting my PC and reinstalling Windows using a USB drive. I've also changed my passwords for most of my accounts that I could think of. Despite these actions, I'm still feeling really paranoid that this person might have some access to my computer. Is there anything else I should do or anything I might have overlooked?

It sounds like you've taken the right steps by resetting your PC and changing your passwords. If you did a clean install of Windows, any malware or keyloggers should be gone, so you should be in the clear. Just make sure to avoid downloading random files from people you don’t know well. It’s a good rule to consider that anyone online might not have your best interests in mind. Staying cautious is key!
You did well by resetting everything. Just remember to be more cautious next time regarding what you install. Not everyone online is trustworthy. It’s always better to operate under the assumption that you can't trust anyone on the internet unless you know them personally.
Lesson learned for sure! I acted fast once I noticed something was off.
Great job on the factory reset and changing passwords! As an extra precaution, you might want to log into your accounts from a different clean device just to be safe. Also, consider signing out of all sessions for added security.
I did a full wipe, so I think I’m covered, but I appreciate the tip!
Definitely a lesson learned! Just remember to be careful with downloads in the future.
