I recently downloaded a script for Roblox from a site I thought was safe, based on a popular tutorial. I used Google Chrome, which didn't flag the site at first, but later when I checked on Safari, it marked it as unsafe. I unzipped and ran the file named bootstrapper.exe, and shortly after, my Chrome browser closed unexpectedly. That's when I began to worry it might be malware. I quickly disconnected my Ethernet, deleted any suspicious files, and ran all the security checks available on Windows, checking startup apps too, but didn't find anything unusual. What should I do now?

Ah, the classic 'I didn’t think it would happen to me' scenario. Don't worry, it happens to a lot of us! Just make sure to learn from this experience. Avoid downloading unknown scripts in the future, especially from sites that aren’t well-known.
Man, it’s tough! You’re just trying to get ahead in your game, and then bam! At least you caught it relatively quickly. Let this be a lesson and take a break from Roblox for a bit. Stay safe out there!
You might want to completely clean your system at this point. A good way to do that is to use a USB flash drive to perform a clean install of Windows. This means everything on your system will be erased, and you'll start fresh. It's the safest way to ensure any potential malware is gone. Just remember to back up any important files beforehand!
Just a thought, but can you really say you were 'hacked' if you downloaded and ran the file yourself? I mean, sometimes we just have to be careful about where we get files from. It's a hard lesson learned, but maybe look for more trusted sources next time!
Yeah, I get that, but I really didn’t think it would turn out bad, you know?

Got it! Once I do the clean install, can I be sure the virus is completely gone?
