I think I might have malware on my PC. I was in a Discord server with a verification bot called SafeGuardBot, and it prompted me to run a command by using "Windows + R" followed by pasting something and hitting enter. I realize this might not have been a good idea. What steps should I take now to ensure my safety?

First off, without knowing the exact command you ran, it's tough to say what it may have done. A good starting point is to change your passwords for all your accounts to something unique and secure. Enable two-factor authentication wherever possible. If you're really worried, consider wiping your machine and doing a fresh install of Windows.

I recommend running a scan with Windows Defender or Malwarebytes. If they find anything, you may want to back up your data and perform a clean install of Windows. After that, change your passwords using another device, and consider using a password manager to secure your accounts. Don't forget to enable 2FA on all accounts that allow it!

Reinstalling Windows could be the safest way to deal with this situation. Just make sure you change all your passwords afterwards. And remember, always be cautious with commands from bots and avoid clicking on suspicious links!
