Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on an unfortunate situation. Last week, while I was on vacation in Cyprus, my villa was broken into, and my iPad was stolen. I activated Lost Mode right away, so I was a bit relieved when I got some notifications from Apple. I received a bunch of emails all around the same minute, stating that Lost Mode was enabled, a sound was played on my iPad, and then I got notifications saying my iPad was found. However, shortly after that, I received another email saying that Find My has been disabled on my iPad. I'm not too concerned about getting the iPad back, but I'm pretty worried about my account's security since it looks like someone might have gained access. I'd appreciate any insights you have on what this sequence of events means and what I should do moving forward! Thanks in advance!

Are you absolutely sure that the emails you received weren't spam? It's usually quite hard to disable Find My without having access to your Apple account, unless your account got hacked somehow.
Just to clarify, did you remove the iPad from your Find My devices? Because normally, it should be pretty much impossible for someone other than you to take it off your account unless they have access to your account credentials.
Did you accidentally remove Find My after enabling Lost Mode? This could be a possible reason why there are inconsistencies in the notifications you're getting.
Nope, I activated Lost Mode immediately. I didn’t remove anything, but it seems like the iPad was turned off right away, which is why I didn’t get any location updates.
No way I removed it! I’ve been checking it like a hawk. It's baffling because, at 21:59, I received an email saying it was put into Lost Mode, and within that same minute, it was found. But then they managed to disable Lost Mode shortly after. How could they even do that?
