What should I do if my iPad’s screen suddenly turned black?

I have an iPad that was working perfectly fine until suddenly, the right side of the screen went completely black. The touchscreen is still responsive, but I can't figure out why this happened, and I'm unsure about how to fix it. Interestingly, when I take a screenshot, the black area doesn't appear in the image, which adds to my confusion. Any advice would be appreciated!

If it's under warranty, definitely reach out to Apple support. They can help figure out what’s wrong. It’s weird that the black side doesn’t show in screenshots; that usually means it’s more of a hardware issue than something software-related.

It sounds like you might have a loose or failing display cable, or possibly the screen itself needs to be replaced. Since you're asking about warranty, check if your iPad is still within its Limited Warranty or if you have AppleCare—both could help you get it serviced without much cost.
