I recently received an email saying that my Google password was changed. Although I had just updated my password myself, I reset it again to be cautious. Shortly after, I got an email asking me to confirm my email for a Snapchat account that I never created. I have never even had Snapchat, so I didn't confirm anything and changed my Google password again, this time setting up 2FA as well. I checked the recent activity on my devices, and everything looked normal. I tried to log in to Snapchat to deactivate this fake account but couldn't get in with my password. I reported the profile and marked the emails as spam. I'm worried that my Google account might have been hacked and that my information is at risk. What steps can I take to resolve this issue?

You should check at the bottom of your Gmail to see your active sessions. It lists all the devices logged into your account. If you find any entries you don't recognize, sign out from all sessions. This might help if someone logged in before you changed your password.
Make sure that email was actually from Snapchat. If you're worried about your email being compromised, change your password and log out of all devices through the settings. If the Snapchat email is indeed legit, it could just be someone mistakenly trying to create an account using your email, and you did the right thing by not responding to it.
Stupid question but assuming this is a real person and not a bot, have they hacked my email? Do they have access to my pictures or any other information? I can log in without issue and get notifications across all my emails. If I log out after changing my password would I still be able to log in to my email right after?
TIL. That's super useful.
