What should I look for in a PC to run demanding games at 1080p and 120fps?

I'm not super knowledgeable about PCs, but I'm really interested in building my own setup. My goal is to play most games at 1080p resolution and 120fps with high settings. I'm also excited about playing heavily modded games like Skyrim. I know some titles like Cyberpunk 2077 might be tricky, but I'm hoping for decent performance in general. Could anyone help me with a list of parts or suggestions? My budget is around $700 for the PC and about $100 for a monitor, but I'm willing to stretch that a bit if needed.

Finding a good monitor within your budget is fairly straightforward; there are plenty of quality 1080p monitors for around $100 or slightly more. However, building the PC will be a bit more challenging. You should consider looking for deals, especially if you’re okay with used parts. A combo with a Ryzen 5 7500F and an RTX 3060 would be a fantastic choice—around $700 should land you a solid system that'll handle most games well, while also keeping you future-proof for some time.

If you’re set on building your PC yourself, I recommend sharing your specific needs on forums. They can offer you exact builds. As for the budget, check this link: $800 build (check out the parts on PCPartPicker) and it’s upgradeable later on. Just know that the GPU may struggle with intensive games like Cyberpunk. If you want to stick to $700, I have another build with lesser performance but decent options.

A different approach is to consider something like an iMac. I think it might be a good fit—

Seriously? An iMac for gaming? Come on, Macs are not the way to go for playing games!
